Tessa is played by the amazing Jodie Comer, who thrilled the nation in TV’s Killing Eve and also has a stash of other top class performances under her belt. She’s a barrister. She’s young, brilliant, and used to winning, swimming in the law’s often-murky waters with ease and confidence. A professional dedicated to defending men who rape, when she herself is assaulted it changes the game. Now she has to confront the fact that when the law’s patriarchal power meets the burden of proof and collides with morals, things become very complicated indeed.
This is the playwright Suzie Miller’s West End debut play. It’s Jodie Comer’s West End debut too... and that means this is a very special event you won’t want to miss. It’s on at the suitably-intimate Harold Pinter Theatre for a strictly limited nine week run, and that means every single ticket is precious. If you want to see Comer at her extraordinary best and experience a powerful, highly unusual piece of one actor drama, this is your show. It isn’t a plot you’ll forget in a hurry, so prepare to be affected, shocked, delighted and thoroughly, often uncomfortably, provoked.
