We speak around 123 million words each throughout our lives. But what would happen if we were restricted to 140 words a day? How would you feel if you wasted some of them and couldn’t complete a conversation? And how would a love affair unfold in a landscape like this? Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons is a tender romcom exploring what we say, how we say it, and what happens when we can't say anything any more. It’s also a dystopian horror, set in a time when an extreme political party wins an election and slaps a strict 140 a day word limit on everyone in the country. It’s Sam Steiner's debut play and it enjoyed critical acclaim when first staged at Warwick Arts Centre in 2015. It gathered three Judges' Awards at the National Student Drama Festival and has since delighted audiences at the Latitude Festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Camden People's Theatre. Now it’s on in the West End, at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 18^th January to 18^th March 2023.

Jenna Coleman played the young Queen Victoria in the TV series. Aidan Turner broke hearts with his TV role as Poldark. This two-handed play stars them both, directed by Josie Rourke, the BAFTA and Oscar nominated Mary Queen of Scots, who is currently directing As You Like It at Soho Place. The show is designed by Robert Jones, with Lighting Design by Aideen Malone and Movement by Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster. The Associate Costume Designer is Kinnetia Isidore, and the remaining creative team members will be announced soon. If you love a quirky plot beautifully executed, this one’s for you.
