Three totally fabulous debut plays await you thanks to the new Sonia Friedman Productions series called RE:EMERGE. The fun takes place at the Harold Pinter Theatre this May and has been awaited with excitement by critics and audiences alike – it's always such a treat to see brand new stage masterpieces, and this one is truly special. Welcome to Walden, J'Ouvert and Anna X, each starring familiar names you'll recognise from TV and the stage.
Walden is an exceptional debut play by Amy Berryman. It's directed by Ian Rickson, whose work on Jerusalem and Uncle Vanya delivered plenty of critical acclaim. It stars Gemma Arterton from the movie Quantum of Solace plus Fehinti Balogun who wowed us in Juliet, Naked, and Lydia Wilson from The Duchess of Malfi. The story? The NASA botanist Cassie returns to earth after a year-long mission to the moon. She meets her estranged twin sister Stella, an ex-NASA architect, in a remote woodland cabin where she lives with her climate activist partner Bryan. The same old wounds surface as the sisters try to mend their relationship. This is thought provoking stuff!
