One For the Road, The New World Order, Mountain Language and Ashes to Ashes are yours for the taking thanks to The Jamie Lloyd Company, which is showcasing seventeen Harold Pinter plays across a season of seven different productions. The entertainment kicks off with a searing triple bill of dangerously political and seriously disturbing plays. One for The Road is one of Pinter’s most intensely terrifying pieces, revealing what happens when a merciless government official interrogates a dissident and his family. The New World Order questions the terrible lengths some people will go to in the name of freedom and democracy.
Mountain Language examines how ideas are suppressed and details the dangers of non-conformism when a group of prisoners tries to find a common voice when the language they share is banned by the state. And last but not least there's Ashes to Ashes, a disturbing feast of drama that brings the dark terror and psychological torment of a woman’s past roaring mercilessly into the present. Each play has a brilliant cast taken from a large pool of talent specially chosen by Jamie Lloyd, and plenty of those involved were good friends with the playwright. What more can you want?
