Cyrano de Bergerac

This is a classic French tragedy, previously brought to us on TV, radio and film. Now it's back on stage thanks to the Jamie Lloyd Company and the brilliant British actor James McAvoy, who have collaborated once more to create sheer theatre magic. This is the sorry tale of the soulful poet, philosopher and duellist Cyrano de Bergerac, who is madly in love with his cousin Roxane but so ashamed of his big nose that he can't bring himself to approach her and confess his feelings. Instead he writes love letters on behalf of the slow witted yet good looking Christian. Roxane falls madly in love with poetic letters' author, but she has no idea they were actually written by Cyrano. He keeps his secret even when tragedy strikes.

If you've always wanted to see James McAvoy live and in action, here's your chance. If you've always wanted to sample the brilliance of the Jamie Lloyd company, here you go. And if you've never been to the threatre, there are 15,000 free tickets on offer thanks to a partnership with British Airways, plus 15,000 more for just £15 each, specially created for the city's key workers, under 30s, and those on government benefits. Walk this way for a to class piece of theatre, a classic French play adored by millions. You're going to love it!

Brilliant, contemporary and provoking
Re-imagined for today this is a tour de force of language delivered by a brilliant cast. In a mix a humour, comment and sadness you are engaged for the whole piece.

Raptastic
Excellent throughout it’s got a lot of swearing but you are pre warned so should not be offended

James Mc Voy fantastic but hated the modern production.
Not like the original story. Too modern and needs to be in the era, costumes and colour.

Absolutely excellent
Wonderful show. All the actors were excellent, not just McAvoy - who was superb! Loved the modern direction of this performance- unique take on this wonderful story. Just go see it!
